A native of Bradenton and a proud graduate of Southeast High School, Simone Taitano, Esq., joins the firm as an Associate Attorney in the Litigation Department.
Simone graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Notably, she distinguished herself as one of six students selected for an exclusive internship at Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls in Henley on Klip, South Africa, where she served as a mentor and tutor to the ninth-grade girls. Her interest in the legal profession began during a summer spent as a student in the Ronald H. Brown Law School Prep Program at St. John’s University in Queens, New York where she interned with the Manhattan Legal Aid Society and in Queens County Family Court.
Following her undergraduate studies, Simone pursued her Juris Doctorate at Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. While at Howard University, she interned for the Honorable Ramon A. Reyes at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn. Simone further honed her legal skills as a Summer Associate at the Office of the General Counsel for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan, and as a legal assistant for Durham Law Group, a personal injury firm in Atlanta, Georgia. While preparing for the bar, Simone provided valuable support to several Partners at Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard and Smith, LLP in Atlanta, Georgia and actively contributed to the team’s efforts on insurance defense cases.
In her downtime, Simone loves exploring new countries, soaking in different cultures, and diverse cuisines. She has visited 11 countries so far in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central America and looks forward to visiting more.
