FL Daubert Standard for Expert Testimony

FL Daubert standard (Section 90.702): adopted 2013 (replaced Frye). Court = gatekeeper: sufficient facts, reliable methods, reliable application. Factors: testable, peer-reviewed, error rate, and acceptance. Hearing: motion in limine, proponent bears burden (preponderance), court examines qualifications + methodology + application + relevance. Ruling: admit or exclude (abuse of discretion review). Applies: all expert testimony (medical, engineering, financial, RE, forensic, and mental health).
