Non-Compete Agreement

Definition: A non-compete agreement is a contract that restricts an employee, contractor, or business partner from engaging in competing activities against an employer or business for a specific time and within a defined geographic area. It is designed to protect legitimate business interests such as trade secrets, client relationships, and confidential information. In Florida, non-compete agreements are legally enforceable if they meet the statutory requirements outlined in Section 542.335 of the Florida Statutes.
