Jacob was born in New York, NY and received a B.A. in History from Duke University in 1996, a J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2000, and an M.B.A. from Cornell University in 2006. He served as a judicial extern on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, California while living in Los Angeles, and is admitted to practice law in Florida and New York.

He worked in the corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions department of a multinational law firm in New York City, was in-house counsel for a Wall Street investment bank, and later became a portfolio manager for a private equity fund, with FINRA licenses as a General Securities Representative and Uniform Investment Advisor, and in the fields of Uniform Combined State Law and Futures and Managed Funds.

Jacob joined the firm’s Sarasota office in July 2023 with practice areas in general business and corporate law, securities, real estate, and intellectual property. His pro bono and community service work has included serving as a volunteer high school English and mathematics teacher, a legal advocate for the Homeless Veterans’ Legal Clinic, and an economic development advisor for underserved rural counties.

He is an avid gin player and owner of one of Southwest Florida’s largest collection of artistic limited edition playing card decks from the United States, Europe, and Asia, and enjoys spending weekends in Longboat Key with family and friends.
