Mr. Gelber was born in New York, NY and received a B.A. in History from Duke University in 1996, a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 2000, and an M.B.A. from Cornell University in 2006.
He served as a judicial extern for a three-judge panel on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, California, and practiced in the corporate law and mergers and acquisitions department of a multinational law firm headquartered in New York City. He also worked in the securities regulation division for a Wall Street investment bank, and later at a fund of funds as a portfolio manager, earning FINRA licenses for General Securities Representative (Series 7), Futures and Managed Funds (Series 31), Uniform Investment Advisor (Series 65), and Uniform Combined State Law (Series 66). Mr. Gelber has performed an array of pro bono work and community service during his career, including as a volunteer faculty member teaching English and mathematics for Durham High School in North Carolina, and as an advocate for the Homeless Veterans’ Legal Clinic in Los Angeles.

Mr. Gelber was admitted to the New York Bar in 2001, and is pending admission to the Florida Bar in 2024. He joined the firm’s Sarasota office in July 2023 with practice areas in securities and corporate law, real estate, and intellectual property under New York law. He is an avid gin player and owner of one of Florida’s largest collection of artistic limited edition playing card decks from the United States, Europe, and Asia, and enjoys spending weekends in Longboat Key with friends, family, and community members.
